My executive coaching work is underpinned by three pillars which inform what I do.
- Scenario planning
Scenarios are one of the most effective ways to think strategically about the future of your business or yourself. I originated the term ‘Personal Scenarios’ in my Masters research which later evolved into ‘Life Scenarios’. Scenarios were pioneered in the cold war by Herman Kahn and used by Shell in the 1970’s to outplay their competition. Today you can use scenarios to ensure you are not surprised by events which will impact on you or your business.
- Positive psychology
I’ve studied and worked with Positive Psychology since 2003, helping my clients to identify their talents and to work with them to be more effective. If there are development areas then we’ll address them from a perspective of using your strengths to develop the areas where you need additional competence.
- Rational thinking
We all suffer from numerous biases that impact on how we think about our lives and our businesses. Helping you to identify your mental traps and to discover ways to overcome them allow you more chance of success with your strategies.
