Artists rarely work alone. They gather in studios, colleges and loose groups that argue as much as they encourage, and many only find their voice once they find their people. Gianpiero Petriglieri, who teaches leadership at INSEAD, argues that careers work the same way. He and Jennifer Petriglieri call these communities identity workspaces: places where what we do is tied to who we are and to what the people around us care about. Find one inside your organisation and it becomes hard to leave. Without one, the job can feel like somewhere you are passing through while your heart is elsewhere.

We are all artists is the thrust of this Harvard Business Review article. By thinking like an artist we can get develop like artists do.
